Sports Massage is a treatment of the soft tissues in the body, including muscles, tendons and ligaments.  The treatment involves the manipulation of soft tissue to benefit muscle mobility, reduce aches and pains as well as preventing injuries.

Benefits of Sports Massage can include:

  • Enhancing sporting performance
  • Increasing joint mobility
  • Improved muscle function
  • Reduce postural imbalances
  • Scar tissue improvement
  • Reduced risk of injury
  • Faster healing of injuries to the muscles and tendons
  • Reduction in acute or chronic pain
  • Improved range of motion

Techniques will include:

  • Effleurage
  • Petrissage
  • Friction
  • Tapotement
  • Hacking/Cupping
  • Vibration
  • Pre/Post/Inter-Event Massage
  • Trigger Point Therapy

Sports Massage can now also include Myofascial Cupping - this is a soft tissue therapy that supports the bodies healing by creating suction on the skin, pulling the oxygenated blood, tissue and the fluids close to the skins surface.  Cupping reduces tight knots, increases blood flow, aids soft tissue repair and increases the range of movement of joint.
